One of my new favourite fiction books in our school library is called A Wolf Called Wander. This story introduces us to a wolf named Swift who loses both his family and his home and is forced to find his way all on his own. He encounters other wolves and journeys hundreds of miles along the way. I love that this novel is inspired by a real wolf named OR-7 from Oregon who's journey is told at the end of the story. It truly is a story of family, courage and survival that inspires you to root for Swift as he navigates his new world. Aimed at readers aged 8-12, this story told in first person from Swift's point of view will draw you in to the very end. |
